Chance Away Kit
Inspired by Chance and the City of Chicago
Details Front:
Lil Chano from 79th is one of Chance’s Nicknames. You can hear him reference this at the end of his verse of Kanye’s song UltraLight Beam. The 79 is made of reflective 3M material, meant to represent the reflective qualities a street sign would have when light is flashed on it. The font used for the number also reflects the font used in Chicago’s Street signs.
Back:
Stars from the Chicago flag at the bottom the kit represent the city. The one at the end is breaking into pieces. Chance is all about Chicago and the city he grew up in. That star breaking away is representing giving pieces of himself to this City.
“Chatham the hood” is a line used in Chance’s song Somewhere in Paradise. The word hood is placed inside the outline of the Chatham neighborhood of Chicago to create this line of the song, which is why it’s placed in quotes.
The numbers above the outline are the geographical coordinates to that neighborhood.
